Maternity photography sessions - a way to capture one of the most significant seasons of your story! It's a time that feels like it is taking so long to pass, but when you look back, holy moly, does it go by fast. (Personally I was so so sick the whole time I was pregnant, and it felt like time was crawling by, but looking back on those months, it still feels like it went by in a blink! And I am so so happy that my husband and I had maternity pictures done to look back on from the last time it was just the two of us!)
A maternity session can and should reflect your own style and personality - wether you want a golden hour session in nature or you'd prefer to get cozy in the comfort of your own home; your maternity session should show of your unique tastes.
Now these soon-to-be parents knew they wanted their session outside in the spring sunshine, and I was more than happy to suggest one of my favourite locations - this little clearing above Kalamalka Lake gets the most beautiful light in the evening and has enough variation to add dimension and interest to the backdrop of images. Reta was an all-star and had sent me inspiration images, brought wardrobe changes and some sweet props! Adding these into your session really help to add visual interest AND give you something to occupy your hands when you feel nervous!
I love how the three different dresses are so so different and let these two show off three very different ~vibes~
Which is your favourite - sweet in yellow, natural linen or, confident "I am woman"?
